BREAKING: Judge Denies Meek Mill Release on Bail

Judge denied lawyers request Monday morning

December 4, 2017

A Philadelphia judge this morning denied a request made by lawyers for Meek Mill that would have allowed the rapper to be released from prison.

Late last month, an appeals court ordered controversial Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley to rule on the bail petition Mill’s lawyers filed weeks ago — and explain her reasons “without further delay.” The judge has reportedly ruled that Mill will stay behind bars because he is a "danger to the community."

Meanwhile, the rapper was sentenced to up to four years behind bars last month for violating his probation. That ruling sparked outrage and and outpouring of support. Particularly vocal were many of Mill's peers, including JAY-Z, who has long been an outspoken critic of the judicial system.
