At 8:00 A.M. on Thursday morning, a 34-year-old named Daniel Clegg got out of prison in Florence, Arizona after doing five months for drugs. (Florence is about 60 miles southeast of Phoenix.)
But he's also done time for theft, burglary, and aggravated assault . . . and now he's got a few MORE things on his record.
Because about an hour after he was released, the friend who picked him up got pulled over for erratic driving. And when the cop walked up to the car, he noticed that it REEKED of pot . . . and that flakes of marijuana were all over Daniel's SHIRT.
The cop also spotted an open cardboard box that had all of Daniel's stuff from jail in it. And on top of his paperwork was a GUN, fully loaded with HOLLOW-POINT BULLETS.
Then a K-9 unit ended up finding marijuana and rolling papers in the car. And exactly 66 minutes after Daniel got out of jail, he was BACK in police custody.
He's now facing charges for marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia, and misconduct involving a weapon. It's not clear if the guy driving was charged too.
