If you name a kid after someone HEROIC . . . does it inspire them to live up to that greatness? Apparently not always.

There's a 23-year-old guy in Singapore named "Batman bin Suparman" . . . which translates as "Batman son of Suparman". And back in 2008, he became a big hit online when a photo of his I.D. card started circulating.

But apparently a heroic-sounding name is NOT indicative of the type of person you are. Because he's in the news again . . . but this time for MULTIPLE CRIMES.

Back in August, he was arrested after a security camera caught him breaking into an office TWICE, and stealing a total of $425.

Then after the cops started questioning him, he also admitted to doing HEROIN, stealing his brother's ATM card, and withdrawing over $500. So yesterday, a judge sentenced Batman Suparman to more than two-and-a-half years in prison.
