There are a lot more sociopaths out there than you might realize. About one in 25 people, according to studies. If you think you might be SLEEPING with one, check out a list of 11 telltale signs from the Huffington Post.

  1. Oversized ego. Sociopaths are highly narcissistic, with a huge sense of entitlement. And they tend to blame everyone but themselves.

  2. Chronic lying and manipulative behavior. Sociopaths use deceit as a tool to get what they want. Either lying to your face, or making promises they don't intend to keep.

  3. A lack of empathy. Some sociopaths have said that they don't have the same emotional responses as other people. So they can't imagine what other people go through.

  4. Lack of remorse. Sociopaths don't feel shame. You catch them doing something wrong, they shrug it off. And if they're punished, they tend to think THEY'RE the ones who have been wronged.

  5. Staying eerily calm in dangerous situations. Sociopaths often don't feel fear the same way other people do. For instance when they're threatened with electric shock in lab experiments, they tend not to react much.

  6. Being extremely impulsive or irresponsible. Part of being a sociopath is not really caring about the consequences of your actions. So they often do things on the spur of the moment, just because they feel like it. They can be bad with money, for instance.

  7. Having few or no real friends. Not because people don't like them, but because they don't like to form relationships. They tend to keep things superficial, except where they can use someone toward their own goals.

  8. Being charming and likeable. Sociopaths are good at gaining people's trust. It's one of the ways they get what they want. They'll seem like nice people, until you stop going along with them.

  9. Hedonism. Sociopaths are big pleasure-seekers. So at least you'll have a lot of fun dates, even if your relationship sucks.

  10. Disregard for social norms. This comes from a general belief that rules and laws don't apply to them. They just do what they want, without stopping to think whether it's allowed.

  11. Having an intense gaze. They're not shy about looking people right in the eye. They don't get uncomfortable and look away, the way most people would. They just go on staring, which can be perceived as aggressive or seductive.
