Usher Accuser Said He Always Wore Condoms, But Changed Her Story in Lawsuit

October 10, 2017

The Georgia woman who’s accusing Usher of giving her herpes insisted she only had protected sex with him, even though she claimed otherwise in her $20 million lawsuit.

On a phone recording, Laura Helm tells her publicist that she had no plans to sue Usher after finding out he allegedly has herpes.

She said Usher had always worn a condom when they had sex ... so she wasn't concerned about being exposed to the virus. She even said, "That's why they make protection, for people who have STDs."

That conversation happened just two days before Helm filed the lawsuit against Usher and changed her story, but her attorney says Helm had a good reason for lying. Helm’s lawsuit claims that Usher did NOT use a condom when they had sex in New Orleans.

The two different stories seem to create a huge credibility problem for Helm, but her attorney says Helm only lied because she thought her publicist, was trying to shop a story to the media about Usher having an affair.

The attorney says Helm "didn't want to be exploited and, in her attempt to deter Byron from doing so, she told him (inaccurately) that she never had unprotected sex with Usher and that she did not have herpes."

Meantime, Usher filed legal documents disputing the claims of Laura Helm, who says she contracted the STD from Usher.

He says, "With a one-in-six chance that any given partner could have genital herpes, she assumed the risk of contracting an STD each and every time she chose to have unprotected sex with a casual, consensual partner."
