Is todays late snow fall rare or normal?

While much of Colorado currently sits under a Winter Weather advisory on this late May date, it has left many people on social media debating with each other with many people complaining about the late snow, and people replying "its Colorado!"  So is this just normal Colorado?

According to the National Weather Service, the latest measurable snowfall is as follows:

April 30, 2016

May 12, 2010
April 27, 2009
May 14, 2008

So theres no question we've definitely had snow pretty close to this date over the last decade, but "measurable" snow is not necessarily a "Winter Storm Advisory"  But regardless, stay safe out there and help your trees out by knocking that snow off those branches!
