Colorado has about 30,000 animals that are killed every year in its’ shelters. June 11th, 2013 has been declared No Kill Colorado Day. "Just One Day," over 80 rescues and shelters in Colorado will agree to not euthanize any animals in their shelters. It cost $104 to euthanize a pet. If we all worked together we could actually have NO MORE homeless animals in the US! It has already been proven in San Francisco and Austin, TX. Now let’s do it here in Colorado! Brews for Barks reunites our military with the pups they love. Brews for Barks is the fundraising event for The Puppy Rescue Mission. Since it began, it has brought over 400 dogs home to their soldiers/owners/friends. Some of the soldiers have had these dogs as companions for the whole 4 years that they were serving in the war zones. To leave them can cause more stress to the soldier and subject the animal to dangerous and cruel conditions. Brews for Barks will be at The City Park Pavilion on June 7th. They are hoping to raise $16,000. Please click here to see pictures of reunited soldiers and pups and to purchase tickets. In fact, someone dies from CVD every 39 seconds! Heart disease also kills more women than all forms of cancer combined. And congenital cardiovascular defects are the most common cause of infant death from birth defects. Walking just 30 minutes a day can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and reduce your blood sugar. We need to keep our friends and family healthy. Jennifer is also in the studio to talk about experiencing a stroke at 13yrs old.
