Wondering how Lil Wayne is spending his time behind bars at Riker's Island?

“Inmate Carter is in a category of housing that we call ‘general population/escort,’ ” a New York City Department of Corrections official tells PEOPLE. That means when he leaves the housing area (his cell or the day room), he will have a captain escorting him at all times. On an hourly basis, the rapper can decide if he wants to be locked in his cell or locked out of it – for security reasons, inmates are not allowed to freely move between their cell and the common areas.

What else can Lil’ Wayne expect from the year ahead? The official shared the following details:

The Day Room

In this common area, which he shares with 19 other inmates, Lil Wayne can watch television, play cards, read the paper or just socialize. Since the day room is within ...

I got records where I'm talking about women ... and where women are talking back to me." (MTV)

Gangstarr Rapper Guru In A Coma Following Cardiac Arrest

Posted 3/1/2010 2:30:00 PM

Gang Starr MC Guru suffered a cardiac episode over the weekend and is currently in a coma, according to multiple reports. Details were unavailable at press time about the rapper's condition and when the incident occurred.

Hot 97's news director Miss Info reported that Guru is currently in a New York-area hospital where he's expected to undergo surgery.

Gang Starr's DJ Premier was scheduled to appear on Sirius XM's Hip-Hop Nation satellite radio station late Sunday night to speak about Guru's condition. However, Premier never called in: According to the producer's blog, the sensitivity of the situation prevented him from speaking publicly. In the same post, Guru was described as "fighting for his life."

Composed of Guru (born Keith Elam in Massachusetts) and Premier (born Christopher Martin in Texas), Gang Starr teamed together to help define the New York underground rap sound in the early '90s. Premier's production palette featured sampled jazz records ...

Pole Dancing an Olympic Sport?

Posted 2/24/2010 6:00:00 PM
Pole dancing, the titillating mainstay of strip clubs throughout the globe, may one day be an Olympic sport, reports the New York Daily News. KT Coates, a pole dancer in England, and fellow advocates are circulating a petition for a test event at the 2012 Olympics and a more formal event four years later, in Rio de Janeiro.

Currently, they have 4,000 signatures, which seems unambitious considering a weekend canvass of strip clubs in New York alone could probably double that number.

At first glance, it seems unlikely that the Olympic committee would recognize pole dancing as a sport, let alone one that warrants an Olympic forum. (Many more-established sports, like squash, are not represented in the games.) But in recent years, pole dancing has in fact migrated from strip clubs to tony sports clubs, where it's become a popular and challenging fitness class. It's even been featured on Oprah. ...

The Fugee's to reunite?

Posted 2/24/2010 5:15:00 PM
Rumors are circling of a possible Fugee's reunion.

According to a close friend of Pras, who was in NYC for a charity event last night, the Fugees have been in talks of reuniting to help the Haiti earthquake victims. Both Wyclef and Pras have ties to Haiti and have confirmed they would do a reunion. The only slow comer to confirm is Lauryn. Hopefully she will jump on the bandwagon like Pras who said:

“That’s the only reason I would think about doing anything on that level.”

Our source says it looks pretty much like a go from everyone, but no official confirmation has been made yet.

How many of you would still want to see the Fugees hit the stage?
